Fix iTunes Misspelled Songs, Remove Duplicates!
I have so many different favorite artists, singers, musicians, bands songs and albums in my iTunes! One of them is Moby where I have a total 449 songs in my iTunes from him. I’ve been a big fan since 1991 and have been collecting his music pretty much from then almost 20 years now. The only problem is that I have a lot of duplicate songs in my iTunes from him and I hate that. I put all of his songs in a playlist and that’s how I figured out I had 449 songs. The reason I put all of his songs in a playlist was to figure out what I had because I kept running into his songs over and over and realized that there were so many songs in my iTunes from him. I needed to figure out automatically how to remove those duplicate songs!
The problem is because I have so many compilations and greatest hits albums from him and when I import those into my iTunes then I have duplicates. Makes sense right? This is not the only artist I have a problem with but I started thinking gosh if I remove all those duplicate songs from my ITunes library from all those bands, singers, musicians I can open up so much more room for new songs to add right?. What a great idea!!!
The thing is I don’t want to do this by hand I want to automatically do it. I was searching online and found a great Automated Software Program that does the awesome work for me!
I installed this great program and let it run and just fix certain songs by Moby in this case the song “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad” because I had not only several remixes which I want to keep because those were not duplicates but I had the song in my iTunes music library as duplicates from The Next Best Thing Soundtrack, Urbal Beats 3 – The Definitive Guide To Electronic Music compilation, Quiet Night In compilation, Play (of course this is the main album the song comes from), Angel Beach compilation and Chilloutinibiza 3 compilation. So all in all there were 5 extra duplicates of the Moby song “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad” in my iTunes library that needed to be removed. See the example below. I’ve circled the songs that were duplicates.
Also note above that a lot of album cover artwork is missing from my songs. This is another pain in the butt. Because I sync a lot of my music to my iPod, iPhone and take them with me but I really do hate it when the album artwork is missing because I can’t see the album artwork on my iPhone or iPod. All I get a really bland grey music note. That sucks! I need to fix my album cover artwork in my iTunes and add them in automatically!
See picture below. Notice that when I ran this powerful software program the program not only removed the duplicates in my iTunes library it added the album cover artwork as well. See the picture above with the grey music notes and see the album covers below. All fixed! Now I have to run it on my entire Moby music collection. It will fix all my songs in no time.
I love a program that you don’t have to put a lot of work into. You just install, launch set a couple of things up and then just let it run and do it’s thing. Once you do your iTunes will never be the same. You will be so in love with this great program.
