What Can You Do With Your iTunes?

What Can You Do With Your iTunes? Well a whole lot of stuff!

1. You can import all your music at the highest quality setting AIF’s and make various versions or qualities to either play on iTunes and lower quality files for you take with your iPhone which doesn’t have a whole of huge amount of space or you can encode another version (a slightly higher quality version like an MP3-320) for your iPod which will have a lot more space than your iPhone.

-When you import your entire music library as AIFs it will take up too much space on your computers hard drive. So most likely you will not import your entire library as AIF files. Unless you have some mega huge size external hard drives that you can store all your music files at. Otherwise expect to fill up your hard drive pretty quickly! If space is not an issue then by all means import all your music as AIFs and you will enjoy your music in iTunes like you are playing them off the CDs you imported them from.

-If you have a lack of hard drive space but have loads of CDs you want all imported into iTunes then you should import them at the basic quality bit rate of MP3-192. This is what most folks use and import music into iTunes. This is what I used to import my music at but I have now switched over to MP3-320 but more on that later. A typical mp2-192 file is about say about 5:32 song will be about 7.5 megabytes. So if you have 1000 songs at 7.5 megabytes in your iTunes music library then a thousand mp3s at the same size same bit rate of MP3-192 will be approximately 7500 megabytes.

-If you want a slightly better sound quality but don’t wan to import your music at the actual size they are on a CD such as AIF files then I would advise to import them at MP3-320. Seems like most download sites these days offer MP3-320 as a pretty darn good quality file size and I have started to re-import all my music at the higher quality MP3-320 bit rate now. The music sounds just much better and with hard drives being so cheap nowadays it’s worth it!

2. You can listen to all the music you have in you iTunes at your home, office, or where ever you have iTunes on your computer. Or use Apple TV to listen to your iTunes music on your home entertainment system. You can sync your music onto an iPod classic with 160 megabytes of space and take a nice fraction of your songs with you on the go. You’ll have a ton of music options on the go which is quite nice! Or you can sync the music to your iPhone and enjoy it on the go too. When you are not chatting on your iPhone you can certainly listen to your latest and greatest music that you imported into iTunes. Or sync the music to your cool new iPad and take it with you to your next party. You download new music into your iTunes? Then connect your iPhone or iPod to your computer/iTunes again and sync the latest music quickly!

3. You can purchase the latest hit songs at the iTunes music store. How convenient is that? The latest music releases come out on Tuesdays so go to the iTunes music store and search for the newest hits or the latest re-releases and download them to your iTunes music library on your computer.

When you import all your music into iTunes you will have a whole load of problems.

1. You will have duplicate songs.

-duplicate songs can be annoying! Sometimes you can end up with as many as 6 or 7 duplicates. Duplicates happen because you might have imported a CD more than once, or you have the same song on countless albums you own like the album it was on, a compilation it was featured on, a soundtrack it was featured on, the single for that song, a greatest hits of that band with that same song and over and over again. For example if you own every single Madonna release then you will certainly have this problem because her music has been featured on countless compilations, she’s released several greatest hits albums (like 3 of them – The Immaculate Collection GHV2 and Celebration her latest Greatest Hits album). So do you need all those songs in your iTunes that many times? No!

2. Missing album cover artwork.

3. Missing song information.

4. Fix misspelled song details.
